Edging your lawn

Edging your lawn can really help set your lawn apart from your neighbors lawn.

- My first tip for edging would be to make sure you have a fresh blade on your edger.  Next make sure that when you are actually edging try and angle the edger towards the grass to really get a clean edge look maybe about 30 degrees.  I think that landscape borders look great after they are edged!  I make sure we always edge around all landscape beds and borders.  When edging around the landscape borders be sure and angle the edger blade at almost a 45 degree angle leaning towards the grass again.   Be carefull if you are edging landscape beds with rocks as they will shoot out and hit you if you are not carefull.  Also be carefull not to shoot the rocks into any cars including your own-(We have dented our own trucks doing this before.)  Other areas I like to make sure are hit with the edger are the cracks in the driveways, sidewalks and along the curbing on the street.  Making sure there is no grass growing through concrete or asphalt is very important!!  Make sure if you are edging around concrete curbs to be very carefull not to chip them as they are not cheap to fix!
